I was raised with two handicap sisters. Both Lydia and Faye were paralyzed from the waist down. And because of that they spent some of their time in a traditional manual folding wheel chair.
Today, I saw someone who was standing up in what is called a Stand Up Wheelchair. He was moving freely as he was going about his business. I seemed so free and happy to me and I thought about how amazed my sisters would be if they could has seen such a thing as a stand up wheel chair. I think it is so awesome that a chair can stand up so people can live more of a normal life with much more freedom.

Thanks Daniela. I think the coolest thing about it for the handicap is that people can talk to you eye to eye, rather than look down to you. It is just another thing to give a handicap person more freedom.

This is useful and beautiful hub! I was working with disabled people and no one of my clients had this stand up wheelchair but they had so many other helpful stuff!!! One of my client had Simplicity called program he could control a lot's of things in his home with his voice like open the door put on and off light work on the computer and so on .....
