My New Years Resolutions for 2012

This article was written a year ago and today I wanted to update you on the past year.

Because of my unemployment and my husband loosing his job last year, we lost our home in June...And I honestly think it is the best thing that could have happened to us. The financial stress of not knowing what laid in the future caused lots of wear and tear on my marriage. But my hubby and I are fighters and today we are happier than ever.

Now we are in a 3 bedroom town home that we are renting and we are very, very happy. It is really weird because I thought it would put me into a deep depression and that I would feel like a complete failure. But the opposite is really what I feel. It feels so good to not have my phone ringing off the hook with bill collectors.

And after talking to many people, I realized we are not alone and this was not our fought. So I've been focusing on writing about it and hopefully help others who feel like they are losing everything.

I actually feel so much richer and blessed this year. I found a terrific job that I enjoy and my husband is back to work and very happy. Our marriage is stronger than ever and we are really feeling blessed. So yes, in 2011 I am feeling prosperous!

2010 has been a really tough year for many people and people are hopefully being optimistic about the future. Many families have been dealing with some really scary financial issues. I can tell you from personal experience 2010 was the year that I really learned to count my blessings. We had to modify our mortgage, and file personal bankruptcy. I became unemployed for the first time in my entire life and my husbands income has gone down by $900 a month. The thoughts of loosing our home is very real and yes, very scary.

But I am feeling very blessed anyway. This past year, I have been able to spend more time with my family and really connect with my teenagers. I've been able to reflect on my life and am so grateful that I am healthy. In 2010 I learned to count my blessing and be grateful for what I have.

In 2011, I think New Years resolutions will sound much different than they did last year but the message is the same...We all want prosperity and we all want happiness.

Many New Years Resolutions sound very familiar as they are yearly goals for many people...You know....

Lose Weight, Quit Smoking, Quit Drinking, Spend more time with your family...

But...Some New Years resolutions are going to sound very different in 2011.

The Old New Years Resolution "Make More Money" or "Get out of Debt" will sound more like "Get a Job" or "Save my House" - In my case I hope to get a job that will help pay our bills. But I really want to see the job market improve for everyone! The unemployment rate is higher than ever as are foreclosures.

The most important thing is that you have to take action every day in order to find a better job. Seek employment everyday and be optimistic. People want to hire people with great positive energy.

One of the things that I discovered is that I can earn some extra money on the internet without any investment. I'm not getting rich or anything but I am earning extra cash to pay for some bills and groceries. Last month (November 2010) I earned over $400 online just by writing pages at Squidoo and Hubpages.

I still need to get a job and it is my first priority everyday, but in the mean time, the online income is a huge blessing! I made a decision to take my life in my own hands. If I don't find a job anytime soon, then the extra money I bring in is making a huge difference in our lives. And it does a whole lot for my self worth.

So I am optimistically looking forward to 2011.

Resolution is another word for goal. And I wanted to write out my goal for 2011. So Here it goes...

• I am going to continue to spend more time with my family and count my blessing everyday.
• I will do everything within my power to improve our financial situation including having the best possible attitude while seeking employment. I will also have that same professional attitude while working my online Business.
• I will give back and help others.
• I will live with gratitude and thank God for the abundance in my life!
